What is Futsal

Futsal is a 5v5 indoor sport played on a hard court with a smaller, weighted ball. Developed in South America and recognized worldwide as one of the best environments for player development. The court is smaller, the pace is faster, and individual players are involved in the game and are forced to problem solve far more often than in the eleven-a-side outdoor format.

Why Play Futsal

With a different ruleset and played on a small court with 10 total players, futsal creates an environment where each player gets way more touches on the ball and has to think much faster. You have no time to think about your mistakes as the other team could get into a goal-scoring situation after just one pass. Your individual technical skills need to be used to problem solve and adapt very quickly. Players who play futsal in the winter end up being more comfortable on the ball and are better at processing the field when outdoor in the spring. And we don't have to play futsal just to get better at soccer. Our club also exists because futsal itself is an incredibly fun and engaging sport that we hope our players will play long into the future.

One Coach Per Team
Every Wolves team has a single dedicated, USYF-licensed futsal coach. Not a rotation of staff. Not a soccer coach running a futsal session. One coach who knows the sport and knows your player.
Real Futsal
We play futsal. Not indoor soccer on a futsal court. Our players are futsal players — trained in the rules, the positions, and the style of play specific to the sport.
A System No Other Club Has
Our coaching is built around a complete gameplay model with defined principles for every moment of the game. Structured, aggressive, and team-oriented. A wolf pack on the court.
Education First
Our players understand why they're doing what they're doing. We push every player developmentally with structure and intentionality that no other futsal club in Massachusetts provides.

The Program

Teams

Every player who joins the Wolves is part of one program. Teams are placed at the right competitive level within the Mass Youth Futsal League and receive coaching from licensed, experienced staff.

USYF National Program
External · MWFA Recommendation

Our top players are recommended to attend the US Youth Futsal National Program ID Clinic for the Northeastern Region, held at the Park School in Brookline. Players selected from that event are invited to the National Camp, where they compete for a spot on the National Team.

Apex Teams
Invite Only

Apex Teams are the highest competitive tier within the Wolves program. Only one Apex Team can exist per age group, and they are formed only when the right caliber of players is present. Apex Teams are selected by invitation following tryouts or through an application form and subsequent evaluation.

Questions

FAQ

Do I need to order a uniform?
The club handles uniform ordering. When you register, your size is recorded and your kit is ordered with the rest of the club. You do not need to purchase or arrange anything separately.
How do I join a team?
Sign up for tryouts using the registration link on this page. If you cannot attend your age group's session, contact us through the site before signing up for the makeup slot.
How can I join an Apex Team?
Apex Teams are invite only and are formed team by team. By participating in tryouts, the regular season, or other MWFA events, you give yourself the opportunity to earn an invitation. There is no separate tryout process for Apex.
What equipment do I need?
You need a pair of indoor soccer or futsal shoes (flats) and shin guards. A futsal-specific ball is not required, but players are welcome to bring one to practices.
When and where are matches?
Matches begin in December and run through the start of February. They take place on weekends — either Saturday or Sunday depending on your age group and division level within the Mass Youth Futsal League.
What if I can't make every game?
We ask that players attend at least 75% of their matches so teams are never short. Beyond that, it is up to you and your family. We understand that winter schedules are complicated and other obligations come up. What matters is that you communicate with your coach in advance.
Can players from any club join?
Yes. The Wolves program is club-neutral. Players from any outdoor club, school team, or academy are welcome. The program runs in the winter offseason specifically so it does not conflict with fall or spring outdoor commitments.
