Logistics -

FORMAT: Two training sessions per week in the evening over the course of the summer. You can choose how many weeks you’d like to attend and which weeks through our Pick-Your-Package pricing system.

WHEN? First Week, June 15th. Last Week, 8/10. (Skipping week of 7/6)

HS Age programs will be Tues/Thurs and Youth Programs will be Mon/Wed, 6:15-8:15pm and 6:30-7:45pm respectively.

WHERE? Tenacre Country Day School, Wellesley MA. Centennial Field.

SCHEDULING/PRICING? You will purchase a package of weeks, which are priced such that larger packages are less per hour of training. You will then be added to our partner app Ollie where you will see the schedule for the training session and can RSVP your attendance.
You DO NOT need to commit to dates up front and those dates can change as the summer goes on.

This is not a summer camp, this is not scrimmaging with some drills/games. These will be professionally coached, meticulously designed, and specific training sessions. These sessions will be layered, progressive, and unique week to week with an emphasis on individual feedback.

High School Tryouts Prep for Rising 8th and 9th Graders

This program is designed for rising 8/9th graders to help them prepare for their first year of high school tryouts. The goal is to go into tryouts in good shape, sharp on the ball, and confident in your preparation. This can be a difficult transition for players that we will help smooth out. We will focus on…

  • Physical: Proper warmups, conditioning, movement technique, plyometric and strength training.

  • Technical skills: Receiving, Passing, Dribbling, Tackling, Ball Striking. Special emphasis on shooting, crossing/finishing, and heading, as HS specific skills.

  • Tactical: Decision making under pressure, heads up play. Focused on individual vision rather than teamplay tactics.

High School/college prep for 10th-12th graders

This program is designed for older High Schoolers who are aiming for varsity level soccer at their high school or for players considering soccer post high school at the collegiate level. This is about making the final transition into adult soccer and perfecting your craft for your final years in High School. We will focus on…

  • Physical: Strength training, explosivity, mobility, and injury resistance. Some conditioning.

  • Technical: Receiving, Passing, Dribbling, Tackling, Ball Striking. Situational repetitions, high expectations for execution. High emphasis on final third play and situational tackling.

  • Tactical: Overarching gameplay principles and their application.


Monday Wednesday 6:30pm-7:45pm

Advanced foundation development for 5-7th graders

This program will be focused on building strong foundations in our middle-aged athletes. This is the time period where individuals across the population are the most inconsistent and the most variable in their physical and mental characteristics. This is about mastery over the basics and learning to understand that advanced play, special moments, and those crazy trick plays we all dream of, happen naturally when all the simple things are being done right.

  • Physical: Education on movement technique, speed training, change of direction training.

  • Technical: Receiving, Passing, Dribbling, Tackling, Ball Striking. An emphasis on small-sided games and repetitive precision.

  • Tactical: Basic principles of small group tactics and relationships between players in shared goals such as recycling, breaking lines, pressure/cover, etc.

general soccer athlete development for 3rd and 4th graders

This program will be focused on creating the foundation for athletic development in our youth players with a soccer focus. The goal is to develop a holistic athlete with strong motor behavior and mechanics in various situations. This will include a lot of body movement and awareness with and without the ball as well as an emphasis on small-sided gameplay.

  • Physical: Games and challenges designed to subconsciously teach movement habits such as head up, on toes, hip drive, dynamic core stability, etc.

  • Technical/Tactical: Receiving, Passing, Dribbling, Tackling, Ball Striking. An emphasis on small-sided matchplay with lots of individual feedback (1v1, 1v2, 2v2, 3v2).


Frequently Asked Questions

  • Programs are based on Grade level, and you should sign up with your rising grade. This will ensure proper match-ups between players and the delivery of the most relevant educational content to your player.

  • Yes, these programs will be mixed gender programs. With the focus being primarily education and skill development, rather than competition, we believe that creating environments across genders and within expanded but intentional age ranges is most conducive to the development of both the player and the human.

  • No there are no tryouts for these programs. Skill is not a pre-requisite for playing. The expectations are entirely around attitude and effort. This is for players who are serious about getting better and don’t cut corners, regardless of your playing level or experience.

  • This is why we have our Pick-Your-Package Pricing Structure. We rent the fields and run each program for the entire summer (8 total weeks). You are asked to commit to a minimum of 3 weeks. Those can be any 3 weeks throughout the summer and as long as you RSVP through our partner Ollie Sports a few days ahead of when you plan on attending then your player will be all set to go.

  • We will not be able to supply refunds to previously purchased credits; however, you can reschedule a day/week at any time, and you can also add additionally training weeks at a prorated cost of 100$ per week.

  • Every player will be required to wear shin guards and cleats. Optionally, you may bring a ball if you’d like. Every player will receive an official MWFA Summer training shirt, and we encourage you to wear it and any other MWFA training shirts you may have if you have been a part of our previous winter/summer programs! However, players may wear whatever they like to training.

  • We may be impacted by summer thunderstorms in which case we will either cancel ahead of time or use the school facilities to take shelter if needed. On stormy evenings parents should be prepared to pick up their players early. We will try to get every session in and will not cancel for rain unless the school closes the fields. Any missed sessions due to weather will not be directly refunded however can be made up with any of our later sessions.
